ABOUT US...
Gateway DockDogs is open to any dog - regardless of breed, size, shape, or ability. The only restriction in competitions is that the dog must be over 6 months of age. The sport of DockDogs Big Air is a great way to get started in other dog sports as well. Since it is a less complicated sport with simple rules, the dog has an opportunity to experience the other aspects of dog competitions - noise, new people, new dogs, new smells.
The Simple Rules of DockDogs Big Air:
Only 1 person may compete at a time.
Only 1 dog may compete at a time.
Only 1 object may be used to throw.
Disclaimer: Participating in DockDogs Big Air competitions WILL result in an addiction and desire to be with your dog, travel all over the Saint Louis area, as well as all over the country to watch your dog jump off of a dock! Joining the Gateway DockDogs Club will only make your addiction stronger and may be a difficult habit to break! Welcome to the DockDogs Family.

When a devastating fire destroys a kennel, when medical bills skyrocket and a family’s income is slashed because the breadwinner has cancer, when the cost of saving a dog’s life is more than the owner can bear, or when a father cannot
afford the cross-country flight to see his ill daughter in the hospital — these are just a few of the situations when The B.A.A.R.K. Foundation has jumped in to help. When a DockDogs® competitor, a loved one, or a precious pet is in need, we are there. Because of your generosity, B.A.A.R.K. can enable people to cope with the difficult challenges that life brings. United under the banner of Basic Assistance And Recovery Kindness, we bring grantees and donors together in a network that promotes the community spirit, compassion and support of the DockDogs family.
The B.A.A.R.K. Foundation is 501(c)3 organization which plays a leading role in making grants that enable and strengthen the DockDogs community when members have fallen on hard times.
Thanks to our donors, The B.A.A.R.K. Foundation can empower members of the DockDogs community when they face a crisis.
Recently, two members of our Gateway Dockdogs family were touched by the B.A.A.R.K. foundation:
"Spencer "The Flying Sponge" began his dock diving career in 2009 at the age of seven. He instantly fell in love with the sport and
especially the attention from everyone. Starting late 2011, Spencer began his fight to overcome multiple major illnesses. This was when
the BAARK Foundation along with our Dock Dogs friends stepped in and provided their support. The BAARK Foundation's assistance enabled us to focus our attention on Spencer's recovery and less on financial worries. Although Spencer lost his fight we are forever grateful to the BAARK Foundation and Dock Dogs community for their support.
